Weeks 3-5

Lexi has been a JOY!!!! She sleeps good, she eats good, and she's starting to LOVE her parents!!!! She's getting quite the little personality! She watches us and laughs at us and her dad even recently taught her how to stick out her tongue. I haven't been able to catch it with the camera yet but it's really cute:):) She is also very strong and loves to stand up and show us how strong her legs are. Occasionally she can be found walking... with assistance of course. And her dad also taught her to stand and then crouch down when she's going potty and she really likes it when I help her with that and gets mad if I don't. She calms down as soon as I put her in that position... man she's bossy all ready:) She just melts our hearts.
These shots are again of being around the house because again I forget my camera when company is here... I swear I will be better though! My parents came down the weekend before Lexi's 1 month birthday and brought her a cake!!! It was VERY good...no pics with them though:( Next time.
I also caught some of her under her kick'n crawl singing to the music!!!! She's loves that thing. She was even practicing her cheerleading moves, if you don't believe me see below!!!! So cute!!!!
This past week Lexi and I went on our first LONG trip up to get her brother Devin. She did REALLY good on the way up we didn't have to stop at all and on the way home we only stopped one time! Not too bad! I was a nervous wreck but she did GREAT!!!!! And it was love at first site for her and Devin:) She loves him already. She watches him and laughs at him and she's even stuck her tongue out at him. It is so cool to watch her with him and amazing how much she's changing!!!!
During our time picking Devin up we stopped in to see Lexi's auntie Aliscia and brand new cousin Paxton! We got some pictures of them together:) They are 4 weeks apart!!!! And they played pretty nice together:) After getting each other in the face we thought we should pull them apart:) It was funny!
Now I'm caught up and will post new pictures soon with Lexi and Devin!

Our sleeping princess!

Finally got a smile on camera! It was even bigger in real life though:)

Happy 1 month birthday to Lexi!!

On Saturday, June 9, our good friend DeAnna came over to take some family photo's. She did a WONDERFUL job!!!! Don't you agree? These are some of my favorite shots:)

First 2 weeks home

We had many visitors and meals brought (thank you to all who played a part in that! The meals were all amazing and the company was WONDERFUL!!!!!) and again I didn't get any pictures!!!! But I did take some of things around the house:) I figure I will sum things up easily with pictures and not as much narrative until I get caught up! All you really care about are pictures anyways:) I know how you are:):)

Already yelling at her friends:) And she's only 5 days old!!!!

And her mom!!!! Still only 5 days old, I can't wait to see what happens when she's a teenager...

Didn't I tell you I was mad at you... :)

But I sure love my daddy!!!!

This is seriously how I found them. 9 days old and she's already copying him... how cute:)
First bath... I'm not so sure about this.
Now that's what I'm talking about:) How cute is she??? :)
Now there's a smile caught on camera finally:) She loved her first bath!!!
Making faces for the camera.

Week 1 - Hospital Stay

I loved hanging out with my daddy in the hospital.

I love my mommy:)

Did I mention I love my Daddy!!!???

Because of the c-section our hospital stay was pretty long (we finally got out Wednesday afternoon!!!) and we were happy for visitors (mostly after Monday which was a horrible pain day for Mommy!!!). Unfortunately we didn't get pictures with everyone that came, but I'll post those we did get but we VERY MUCH appreciated EVERYONE!!!!
On Monday my grandparents von Lahr were there as well as Jen and Grandma Sheridan. But like I said this was a horrible day to visit for mommy!!!!!
Then on Tuesday my friend from church Isabelle and her m0mmy and daddy came to see us (Deanna and Freddie), and my other church friend Ty and his parents Matt and Laurie. Plus mommy's co-worker Kristina and her adorable son Luke and mommy's sweet boss Nancy came to visit us:) Then lastly my friend Rebekah.
I also had my friend Amanda come a few times because she works at UCDMC. It was a lot of fun but we were ready to go home!!!!

Our friend Rebekah.

Our friend Jen.

Our favorite nurse Gary from labor and delivery who came to visit and check on us!

Our friends Matt and Ty.

MY ARRIVAL

The week leading up to Lexi's arrival was that pretty much of chaos! We were waiting for Tommy's bar results on Friday, May 25th, we found out that our house would be ready around June 12th and I had just quit working on May 18th and had A LOT to do!!!!!

After we found out Tommy passed (YAY!!!!! Thank you God for getting us through LAW SCHOOL AND THE BAR!!!!) we hung out with a few friends that were in town and celebrated. But not really too much because neither of us had slept very well leading up to Friday and we were REALLY tired. Not to mention I think we are getting old!!!!:)

Saturday morning we woke up BRIGHT and early because we couldn't really sleep so we took an early jaunt up to our new house to see the progress then went to breakfast and caught the early matinee to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. After that we went home and took a nap and did nothing pretty much until that afternoon when we had dinner plans with some friends. That night when we got home we were so excited to go home and SLEEP!!!! It had been awhile. Little did we know that we would be going to the hospital that night...

I couldn't sleep at all I kept tossing and turning and getting up to use the restroom. After this lasted long enough for me to feel bad for Tommy I went out on the couch. I could tell I was having contractions so I wanted him to get some sleep. At about 3:30 I decided to wake Tommy up because my contractions were about 4-6 minutes apart and had been that way for about 2 hours... I told him and he said, whenever you are ready we'll go to the hospital. I think the words FREAKED me out so I told him I would take a shower and see how I felt after that. During my 20 minute shower I had 6 contractions so I figured we should leave for the hospital.

Leaving for the hospital! One last picture of the belly:/

We arrived about 4:30 a.m. and after awhile they decided to keep me even though I was only dilated to a 1 and Lexi hadn't dropped. They made this decision because my contractions were pretty close together still 4-6 minutes apart, I had high blood pressure again, plus 2 proteins in my urine, I had been vomiting and the amniotic fluid levels were marginal... so they were going to give me pitocin to get this party started!!!! At about 7 a.m. we got a room in labor and delivery and met my nurse Gary. He was REALLY cool!

(Me during labor...fake smile can you tell:)!!!) And my parents that came down during this time. Didn't get a picture with Jen who also came over from San Jose during my labor:) How nice of them to come:) )

Labor continued to progress slowly and at about 8 pm when I was dilated to an 8 (up from 2 checks and only being a 6 so this was good because they told me if I was still a 6 that we would have to talk about delivering via c-section). They came back about 30 minutes later and I was still dilated to an 8 and Lexi's vitals weren't as strong as they had been all day. So at this point they again told us that they though we should have a c-section. They gave us the pro's and con's of both options and we went with the c-section (waiting any longer did not sound good for Lexi or me so the c-section seemed like the best option). Once that decision was made I pretty much was swarmed with nurses, docs and anaesthesiologists. They wheeled me into an operating room and started prepping me for surgery. Tommy got to "scrub in" but unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of that:(:( He was really excited about it too!!!!! After they did the incision they let Tommy in to see the rest but as soon as Lexi was born and they took her away he went with her. We met up in recovery later:) Lexi was born at 9:13 p.m. and very healthy:)

I'm not happy!!!

Here I am:) 6 lbs 3 oz and 19 inches long...
